Go so local

Case Study:

Service: Website in a Week
Platform: Shopify
Website: gosolocal.app

Go So Local is an app created to match you with locals in major cities like London, Barcelona and Seoul for travellers looking for unique and authentic experiences. Get personalised recommendations from a dedicated local to discover amazing places to eat, fun activities to try and get the scoop on all of the local knowledge, tips and tricks you could possibly need!

Before

The Go So Local website felt a little too corporate to allow their target customer to engage with the app and what it’s all about - it didn’t feel like a community of real people reaching out to welcome and assist travellers. In general, their concept just wasn’t explained very well, and their existing website was on a platform called Webflow which was too technical to update without a developer.

Some key goals for the day:

  • Move to Shopify to give the team more ownership of their website for updates etc.

  • Create a more community-based vibe to welcome and engage their audience of travellers

  • Expand and refine content to communicate their app and its benefits better

  • Bring a fun, vibrant and personal feel to the website

The client wanted:

A fun, engaging website that explained their USP with ease

Go So Local’s dream was to communicate their unique, personalised service in a bold, engaging way without having to rely on lots of explanatory text.

After

With the move to Shopify, things are now much easier to manage and keep updated for the Go So Local team. The wonderful Charlotte from Copper Moth Design created a fresh, vibrant brand to bring a more authentic, community-led feel to the website which makes a huge visual impact and really brings things together. There is more visual content to explain the concept and show potential customers the value, so that potential customers can get a feel of the service itself.

Now Go So Local has:

  • A website that they are in control of and can be edited with ease

  • Refined written content and plenty of visual content for greater impact and a more in-depth understanding of the concept

  • Improved user experience in navigating the website and answering important questions about the service

  • A brand and website that better reflects their offering

Shiny Happy has transformed our business, and has created an integrated website that fits seamlessly into our tech stack. From the offset, the process was collaborative, easy, and Hannah shared her ideas as to the direction we can take - whilst also listening and being mindful of what we were trying to build… We're already looking forward to our next collaboration with Hannah.
